JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The 2 men holding a fraction of the UFC bantamweight championship came face-to-face in an intense staredown on Friday.
Champion Aljamain Sterling (20-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC) and intervening time champion Petr Yan (16-2 MMA, 8-1 UFC) have long gone backward and forward over and over since their first wrestle that ended through illegal knee disqualification. The tensions flared any other time of their final pre-wrestle staredown at the ceremonial weigh-ins on Friday.
UFC president Dana White used to be hesitant to allow the opponents to procure too shut, but both assured there would be no bodily contact today, they in most cases proceeded to alternate phrases forward of being separated.
