Florida’s Keyontae Johnson Investigated by Police in Alleged Sexual Assault

Florida Gators forward Keyontae Johnson has been formally accused of sexual assault, in step with court recordsdata obtained by T.J. Legacy-Cole of WUFT. He has no longer been formally charged.
The alleged assault took station at a pool event final month, and Gainesville Police were investigating Johnson for a month, in step with Legacy-Cole.
“I’m confident as soon as the details come out, no expenses will be filed,” Johnson’s attorney, Ron Kozlowski, advised Edgar Thompson of the Orlando Sentinel. “Keyontae didn’t commit a crime, didn’t accomplish the relaxation depraved. That may be obvious as soon as the details are out.”
The alleged assault took place at an off-campus condo Feb. 26. Johnson’s accuser had reportedly been drinking hours sooner than the event and at some level of it. She contacted police Feb. 28 after undergoing a sexual assault exam.
Earlier this month, Gainesville police listened in on a phone name between Johnson and his accuser. The Florida basketball participant said he had unprotected sex with the lady after she used to be intoxicated, in step with Legacy-Cole. He said at some level of the resolution that he had requested for her consent.
Two witnesses described the lady accusing Johnson of sexual assault as “heavily intoxicated” and “no longer making any sense” on the time the alleged assault took place, in step with police.
Johnson and the lady accusing him are listed as pals in court documents. That they had a old sexual stumble upon in August, but since then, the lady has “made it positive to the DEF that she didn’t salvage to salvage sexual intercourse any more,” in step with the file.
Johnson has no longer practiced or performed in a recreation for the Gators since collapsing against Florida Pronounce in December 2020. Since then, he has served as a participant-coach for the team and made a ceremonial originate against the Kentucky Wildcats on senior day earlier this month.
